We’ll look at a real-life example of an organization that realized the value of competency management and has begun to embed this mindset into its HCM functions. JD Edwards - Adam Crigger, Preferred Strategies – “Monitoring KPI’s Through a Graphical Dashboard”

Improve visibility into data stored in JDE by monitoring KPI’s through a graphical dashboard interface and then drilling down into reports. Leverage reports developed with your free Crystal Reports licenses from Oracle with a graphical front-end.

We are getting close now...our December 13th meeting invitations should be going out in the next day or so. We are going to try something new this time. We are not confident that everyone is comfortable, or even receiving the emails from Quest, with the current online registration tool. John Bray has decided to create a Google Group for the Indiana RUG where we can post information about our meetings. We might also use a combination of that site and Evite.com to track meeting registrations. Be looking for your Google Groups invitation very soon.

This presentation will demonstrate how ADESA has developed different Excel spreadsheets with functionality to export journal lines in a specific file format for upload into Peoplesoft. In addition, we will show how ADESA has developed Navigation Collections within Peoplesoft and used them on the Peoplesoft home page to facilitate user navigation to specific module functions and improve the user experience.

JDE EnterpriseOne - Nirav Shah – Essentio, Inc. and Joanne Carey - Delta Faucet “Purging and Archiving - the right approach: IT driven or Business Driven?”

This presentation will discuss the importance of having the correct perspective before undertaking a purging/archiving project. What are the critical factors in the success of such a project? Indiana RUG meeting registrations are moving...

The next Indiana PeopleSoft JD Edwards meeting is scheduled for June 7th, 2007 at the Indiana Historical Society in Indianapolis. Very soon you will receive your first email invitation from our new Quest registration system. As we have been communicating over the past several months, the Oracle support for our current registration system (CVENT) will be discontinued at the end of May. Please be patient during our first attempt at using the new system. Although we do strive to do it right the first time, we may make mistakes.

We hope to have our agenda ready and invitations emailed out by the 1st of June. If you do need any assistance with registration or do not receive the invitation then please feel free to contact either Tim Johnson at tjjohnson1@herffjones.com or John Bray at JBray@adesa.com. Indy RUG Training Opportunities - PS/nVision for General Ledger and Intro to PS/HR/Benefits Accelerated

The Indiana RUG Board would like to make all members aware of a few valuable PeopleSoft Training opportunities coming our way in the very near future. They are both listed below:

Knowledge Services, the Oracle Approved Education Center for Indiana, has added the PS/nVision for General Ledger Rel 8.9 class for ADESA on March 12th from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm. We wanted to exend an invitation out to all of the Indiana RUG members.

If you have any interest in the above class please contact Allison at 317-806-6127 or Allison_Ayres@knowledge-services.com.
We are also looking to add the PeopleSoft Time and Labor class as well as a wide range of JD Edwards EnterpriseOne and PeopleSoft classes to the public schedule in Indianapolis. We want to build our schedule based on your needs.

Community Health Network of Indianapolis is interested in attending the Intro to PS/HR/Benefits Accelerated - US Rel 8.9 Ed 1 class. As of this time, they have at least 5 individuals interested in attending. If anyone else has an interest in this class please let either Steve Mullins from INRANGE Consulting or John Bray from ADESA(President Indiana RUG) know that you would like to attend. If there is enough interest it is possible a local, Indianapolis based, class could be created.

December 14th Indiana RUG Meeting Cancelled!

Well...after a great deal of debate over our preparedness we have decided to cancel the December 14th Indiana RUG meeting. We were having a bit of difficulty finalizing the agenda and then we learned that we would have to find a new method for handling the billing for the facilities and food. This generated a great deal more work for us so we are regrouping and already planning for our next meeting which is tentatively scheduled for February 15th. These are the other dates that we are penciling in for 2007:

June 7th
Summer Meeting will be replaced by the Quest Midwest Conference in Chicago
October 11th

Quest Midwest a SUCCESS!!

Okay...I think it was a success...but please let us know what you think. We had a great day and a half full of about 80 education sessions, several Oracle Townhall sessions and a few General sessions by Microsoft, Oracle and Quest. With over 40 vendor/sponsors and the leadership and planning of Quest International, this event was a huge success. Check the QuestDirect.org website under the Ohio RUG, Indiana RUG and Midwest RUG for the online presentations. Thanks again to everyone.

Thanks to everyone who helped make this a strong event including our board members, Bernie Augenstein and Joe Maloney from Batesville Casket (for a fantastic session for our JDE crowd), Oracle, the Indiana Historical Society and of course all of the member companies that came together to exchange ideas and resources. Our next meeting is not scheduled until December 14 for the Indy RUG but as a joint effort we are working with The Midwest RUG, Ohio RUG and Quest to have a great meeting in Chicago on September 14th and 15th. The Indiana PeopleSoft/JDE Regional User Group, in affiliation with Quest International, is holding its next member meeting on Thursday June 15^th, 2006.

Update on Customer Connection retiring discussion...

Just a quick follow-up from Craig Timmer from Oracle regarding the retiring of Customer Connection:

Hey John and Tim -
During Ross Brown's Quest presentation today he made a comment about Customer Connection going away on June 1. Then he pinged me for a comment and the net was that I said I would follow up. So here's my follow up!

Customer Connection is NOT going away on June 1. Customers will continue to use Customer Connection to enter their cases as they are today. When (and if) we determine a 'decommission date' for Customer Connection, we will be sure to notify the customers.

If you could pass that along to the meeting attendees, we would appreciate it.

Richard Belton Speaker BIO – JDE World security and SOX: Richard has worked with JDE security (both World and EnterpriseOne) and been a security consultant since 1998. The New and Improved Indy PeopleSoft/JDE Regional User Group

Welcome to the blogg for the "New and Improved Indiana PeopleSoft/JDE RUG". The board for the Indiana PS/JDE RUG has been working hard to improve the content and resources available to our PeopleSoft and JDE customers. Our goal is to provide a forum where we can all exchange ideas and frustrations, find support and resources, and inspire and motivate. We currently plan to have up to four meetings a year. We have four main tracks that we will focus on including PeopleSoft Enterprise HCM, PeopleSoft Enterprise Financials, PeopleSoft PeopleTools, and JDE World/EnterpriseOne. We hope to expand on these as the interest and participation grows.

Our first meeting this year is going to be held on the 16th of March, a Thursday, and will introduce our new format and agenda structure.

We begin the meeting with a couple general sessions designed to give everyone a high level update from Oracle and another topic, for this meeting it will be a Quest Update, of interest to all members.
Then we move into the morning session which will be what we call a "round table discussion" broken out by tracks (as mentioned above). A round table is an opportunity to find others that might have suggestions on how to resolve any issues you are facing. Each person attending will introduce themselves, describe their application and database environments (as best they can) and then mention a recent success followed up with a current dilemma or issue. This gives the others attending the chance to respond with tips or suggestions.
Next we break off for lunch and that will ideally give each person who attended the round table sessions a chance to network a bit with those people you might have assistance or questions for.
The afternoon bring a single session focused again on a specific track and is usually presented by a customer or a vendor, either Oracle or one of our sponsors, and ideally includes a customer.
Finally, we wrap up with any comments, questions, and (most importantly) door prizes.

Remember, our goal is to provide a resource and forum for customers to share and gain experiences. Please let us know if you are ever interested in sharing your story.
